BYERS, GLADYS LUCINDA - The death of Gladys L. (Cleghorn) Byers, wife of the late Karl Byers, occurred peacefully at Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Friday, March 26, 2004 at 90 years of age. Gladys was well known for her musical talent and generously shared her knowledge of music with her friends, her church and her many music students. Always kind and caring, Gladys was extremely proud of her daughter Margaret, her three grandsons and her special extended families. Gladys will be sadly missed by her daughter Margaret Cooper, Toronto, ON; grandsons Michael, Steven (Violet) and Jason, all of Toronto, ON; great grandchildren Melanie, Eli and Matthew; her "special Kevin Patterson" and special family Cathy Thorburn and Judy and Bill Busteed. Gladys was predeceased by her husband, her parents Tom and Margaret Cleghorn, her only sister, Blanche Thorburn and son-in-law, Tony Cooper. Resting at Swan Funeral Home, 1826 Route 3, Harvey Station with visiting hours Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held from St. Andrew's United Church, Harvey Station on Monday, March 29, 2004 at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Harvey Christmas Mommies Organization or Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital Palliative Care Unit.
