GILLES "GIL" CORMIER

CORMIER, GILLES "GIL" - Gilles "Gil" Cormier, 71, of Beresford and formerly of Bathurst, died Friday (April 9, 2004) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, after a brief illness. Born in St. Leonard, he was the son of the late Ernest and Leda (Dubé) Cormier. He was a retired foreman from Brunswick Mines and was a member of the company's Quarter Century Club. He was a member of the Herman J. Good, V.C. Br. 18, Royal Canadian Legion, Bathurst. He was pre-deceased by his first wife, the former Joan Dennis. He is survived by his wife, the former Viola Hadley, two Sons: Brent Cormier (Sherry) and Bradley Cormier (Natalie) both of Edmonton, AB, two Daughters: Leslie Ross (Alfred) of North Tetagouche, NB, Sharon Blanchard (Neil) of Quispamsis, NB, two Step-sons: Gerry Pelletier (Huguette) of Beresford, NB, Marc Pelletier (Suzanne) of Fredericton, NB, one Brother: Albert Cormier (Germaine) of Sussex, NB, four Sisters: Laura Reynolds of Miramichi, NB, Evelyn Albert (Dave) of Woodstock, ON, Rachel Gray (Phil) of London, ON, Rita Goodine of Plaster Rock, NB, nine Grandchildren, Melanie, Monica, Brandon, Cory, Sophie, Sara, Justin, Erin, Eric and one great-granddaughter, Madison. Several nieces and nephews. There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday afternoon (April 12, 2004) at 2:00 p.m. from Holy Family Church, St. Peter Ave., Bathurst. Burial will be in the parish cemetery, later in the spring.
