MARTIN, WILLIAM E. (BILL) - The death of William E. Martin occurred following a brief illness at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Friday, April 9, 2004. Born in Saint John, to the late Hubert and Harriet (White) Martin. Bill was employed with NBTel for 21 years. He then worked for Galbraith and Metro Construction until his retirement. Bill enjoyed reading, nature, his children and grandchildren. He was an active member of the NBTel Pioneers and was past Vice-president of the Senior Citizens Centre in the City Market. Bill leaves behind his wife of over 50 years, Alberta (Ferguson) and his children Bruce (Ann-Marie), Paul (Theresa), Peter (Cathy), and Martha Halpin (Lloyd). He will be sadly missed by his wife and family that he loved so much. Grandchildren Matthew, Christopher, Peter, Gregor, Brittany, Stephen, Rachel, Melissa and great-grandson Hugo. Survived by brother, Bruce (Evelyn) and nieces Cathy and Kimberly of Courtenay, B.C. Resting at Castle "Fallsview" Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Avenue, Saint John West (634-1701). Funeral Service will be held at "Fallsview" Chapel on Monday at 2 pm. Immediately following the Service a reception will be held at the Fallsview Family Reception Centre. Visitation at the Funeral Home will be Saturday 7-9 pm and Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Donations may be made to Senior Citizens Centre, Saint John City Market.
