RICKER, GERTRUDE R. - 1926-2004 - Gertrude R. Ricker, of Lower Coverdale, NB passed away at The Dr. George L. Dumont Hospital on Thursday, April 8, 2004 at the age of 78 years. Born in Chipman, NB on January 22, 1926 she was the daughter of the late Guy and Edith (Pace) MacCallum. She was a former employee of T. Eaton Co. She was a member of The Lower Coverdale United Baptist Church, a member of The Bridgedale Seniors Club, a member of the Fairlane Seniors Golden Jets Bowling team in Moncton, a member of the Moncton Hubsters Softball team, they were city, provincial, and maritime champions from 1950-1951. Gertrude had a great love for her family, farm and community. She is survived by her daughter Ruth (Pat) LeBlanc of Moncton, NB. Sons Larry (Sharon) Ricker of Lower Coverdale, and Donald Ricker of Moncton, NB. Sisters Lillian (Wilfred) Wiggins of Youngs Cove, NB, and Hazel Brownell of Riverview, four grandchildren: James and Brittany Ricker and Rebecca and Ryan LeBlanc, also by several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband Lorne W. Ricker in 1993, three brothers Wesley, William and Burgess, and by two sisters Hilda Copp, and Wilmilla MacCallum. Resting at Riverview Funeral Home, 214 Pine Glen Rd. on Sunday April 11, 2004 from 1:00-3:00 PM. The funeral service will be held at Lower Coverdale United Baptist on Monday, April 12, 2004 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Gordon Horsman officiating. There will be a reception following the service. Interment will be in Wilmot Cemetery in the spring. In Gert's memory, donations made to The Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
