McCARTHY, LAWRENCE - At the Victoria Glen Manor, Perth-Andover, April 19, 2004, Mr. Lawrence McCarthy of California Settlement passed away, six days before his 95th birthday. He was the husband of the late Elizabeth Downing. Born at California Settlement in 1909, he was a son of the late Thomas and Agnes (Tobin) McCarthy. He was predeceased by sons Archibald and Lawrence, daughter Pauline Bear and grandson Gregory McCarthy. He is survived by seven sons, Mayvard (Ginette) and Joyner (Helena) of California Settlement, Keith (Mary) of Butler, Pennsylvania, James (Patricia ) of Saint John, Calvin (Barb) of St. Paul, Alberta, Christopher (Sharon) of Kingston, Ontario and Bernard (Joyce Sappier) of Tobique First Nation, three daughters, Emily Quinn (late Bernard) of Kingston, Patricia (Wayne Paul) of Woodstock and Judy (Charles Pierce) of Piercemont, daughter-in-law, Joan McCarthy (late Archie) of Gillespie Road, Grand Falls, son-in-law, James Bear (late Pauline) of Ottawa, 31 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, one sister, Edna Myshrall of Victoria Glen Manor, nieces and nephews. Resting at O'Regan's Funeral Home, 515 Everard Daigle Blvd., Grand Falls with visiting hours Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. His funeral will be held Thursday, April 22nd at 11 a.m. from St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, Grand Falls (Portage) with Father Curtis Sappier officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society. www.oregans.ca
