Anne Chiasson

Sydney Anne Chiasson of Sydney passed away peacefully Saturday, Oct. 25, 2008, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. Born in Whitney Pier, Anne was the daughter of the late Frank and Tillie (MacDonald) McNeil. She was a member of St. Theresa’s CWL for more than 25 years. She was an active member of the Steelworkers and Sydney Pensioner’s Club, enjoying bowling, darts, shuffleboard and especially the friendships of the club members. She will be remembered as a loving and compassionate wife and mother who always put others before herself. Anne is survived by her husband of 54 years, Ernest Chiasson; daughters, Claudette (John) MacDonald, Kentville, and Mary Eileen (Andrew) MacPherson, Lower Sackville; and sons, Charles (Rose) Chiasson, Lower Sackville, Keith (Kim) Chiasson, Sydney, and Karl (Shauna) Chiasson, Whitby, Ont. She is survived by seven grandchildren whom she greatly adored, Ashley, Andrea, Lachlan, Hilary, Adele, Natalie and Kieren. Anne is also survived by her brother, John (Alice) McNeil and Margaret Reese. She was predeceased by her siblings, Mary (Aldin) Chant, Rita McNeil and Francis Jr. (Terry) McNeil. Visitation for Anne will be held Monday, Oct. 27 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at T.W. Curry Parkview Chapel, Sydney. Funeral mass will be held Tuesday, Oct. 28 at 10 a.m. at St. Theresa’s Church, Sydney, with Fr. Jim Oliver officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to MacGillivray Guest Home.
