ADCOCK, CYRIL J. - Cyril J. Adcock passed away peacefully at the Ridgewood Veterans Wing on Tuesday May 18, 2004. Formerly of 30 O'Brien St. Saint John, husband of the late Georgie (Schurman) Adcock, Cy was born in West Hill Ontario, son of the late Frederick and Grace (Baker) Adcock. In 1958 he and a partner formed K & A Equipment, serving the community for forty three years. Cy was a past member of the Luxor Shrine, a member of the N.W.C.T.A. for over fifty years and an adherent of St. Mark's United Church. Survived by his only daughter; Virginia and her husband Robert Brown of Saint John, one sister: Lillian Jamieson of Calgary Alberta, two brothers-in-law: Billie Schurman and James Fitzpatrick, and a special niece Marilyn Jones, several other nieces and nephews in Ontario and Alberta. Predeceased by his wife Georgie and three sisters; Rita Cairns, Lavina Fitzpatrick and Margaret Bainbridge. Cyril served overseas with the Canadian Army Mechanized Unit during WWII. A tribute to a Veteran Service will be held at the funeral home Thursday at 7pm. Visitation at CASTLE "Fallsview" Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave., Saint John West (634-1701) Thursday 7-9 pm and Friday 11:30 am - 1:30 pm. The funeral service will be held at the graveside in Greenwood Cemetery Friday at 2 pm. A reception will follow the service at the Fallsview Family Reception Centre. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Ridgewood Veterans Comfort Fund, Canadian Diabetes Association or charity of the donors choice.
