LONG, OLIVE JEAN (KIRKPATRICK) - At the Saint John Regional Hospital on Wednesday, May 26th, 2004, Olive Jean Long of Rothesay, age 93, the daughter of the late William and Phoebe (Hatfield) Kirkpatrick. Over the years, Olive was employed by the Ethel Collins Craft Shop, MRA's Book Dept. and the Classic Book Store, retiring from the Canadian Bible Society Book Store. Olive was also the first Post Mistress of the Rothesay Post Office and was President of the Rothesay Seniors Club. Olive was a life-long resident to Rothesay and was a devoted member of St. Paul's Anglican Church. Olive is survived by her only son David and his wife Sharon of Rothesay, three grandchildren J. David (Bev) Long, Vicky-Lynn (John) Watts, J. Raeanne (Nicholas) Dunn, five great-grandchildren Jamie and Chad Long, John E. Watts, Samantha Dunn and several nieces and nephews, including twins Ann Marie and Ruthie. Olive was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was predeceased by her husband Fred R., three brothers Wallace (Norma) and Irving (Peg) all of Rhode Island and Patrick of Rothesay, four sisters Florence (Walter) McKeon of Boston, Marie (Alvin) Eisenach of Montreal, Ruth (James) Sisson of Rhode Island and Marguarite (Cecil) Ells of Alberta. Resting at CASTLE "Kings Chapel" Funeral Home, 154 Hampton Road, Rothesay, NB, (506-849-1702) from where the visitation will be held on Friday, May 28th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at St. Paul's Anglican Church, Rothesay, NB. The interment will take place in St. Luke's Anglican Church Cemetery, Gondola Point, NB followed by a reception in St. Paul's Church Hall. Donations to the St. Paul's Building Fund or charity of the donors choice would be appreciated by the family.
