CAPTAIN CHARLES HODDER BROWN

BROWN, CAPTAIN CHARLES HODDER - The death of Captain Charles Hodder Brown, of Ridgewood Veteran's Hospital, formerly of Quispamsis, husband of the late Roseline (Jordan) Brown, occurred on Monday June 7, 2004. Born 1921 in Rock Harbour, NF, he was the son of the late Henry and Mary (Hooper) Brown. Charles was a veteran of WWII, serving with the British Navy. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Jervis Bay Branch and the Merchant Navy Guild. He was a Captain with Marine Atlantic for many years, retiring in 1987. He is survived by two sons Kenneth (Lillian) Brown and Derek (Amy) Brown both of Quispamsis; one daughter Rosalind (Howard) Moyst of Dartmouth; two brothers James Brown of St. John's, NF and George Brown (Rita) of Mary's Town, NF; two sisters Annie Dodge (Roland) of Mary's Town, NF and Cecilia Hancock (Alexander) of St. John's, NF; seven grandchildren; several cousins, nieces and nephews. Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John, (646-2424) with visitation on Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday June 9, 2004 at 2 p.m. Interment will take place in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery Field of Honor. The family would appreciate donations made to the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the charity of the donor's choice.
