MALCOLM ORCHARD "MAC" WRIGHT

WRIGHT, MALCOLM ORCHARD "MAC"- Malcolm Wright of Plaster Rock passed away at Tobique Valley Manor on Saturday June 19, 2004 in his 93rd year. Mac was born in Plaster Rock, son of the late Norman and Alice (Flanders) Wright. A lifelong businessman, Mac started in 1936 with a GM car dealership and automotive garage. In 1948, he became co-owner of the Wright and Everett Hardware Store until his retirement in 1984. Active in community affairs, Mac served on the Plaster Rock Village Council, the Tobique Valley Hospital Board, and the executive of the Plaster Rock Golf and Curling Club. Mac was a chartered member of the Tobique Lions Club and was given the Melvin Jones Fellow Award for his contributions to the club. Mac was predeceased by his wife Margaret Wright (Corey) and his daughter Janet Munson both in 1992, his sisters Grace Witherly, Verna Johnson, Myrtle Mugavero, Winnifred Pickard, his only brother, Sherman Wright. He leaves behind his grandson Scott Munson of Portland, Oregan, his granddaughter Suzanne Munson of Vancouver, BC; great grandchildren Carter and Emma, along with several nieces and nephews. Resting at Tobique Chapel in Plaster Rock with visitation on Monday, June 21, 2004 from 7-9pm with members of the Tobique Lions Club holding a memorial service at 7:30pm. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 22, 2004 at 3 pm from Tobique Chapel. Rev. Ellen Flemming officiating. Interment in Linton Corner Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Arrangements by Brunswick Funeral Home, Perth-Andover.
