LAURA MARGUERITE (GORMAN) MILLER

MILLER, LAURA MARGUERITE (GORMAN)- Laura Marguerite (Gorman) Miller passed away Friday June 25, 2004 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born at Noel, NS. in 1912, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Isabella Gorman. The oldest of four children, she had enjoyed up until her illness, talking nightly with her sisters Marti Walker and Anne Christensen in NS. Marguerite was a school teacher and taught at Noel Shore, Northfield, New Ross and later in Elmsdale, NS. Each of her students held a special place in her heart and she mentioned many of them over the years. She married Fred Miller and until they moved to NB in the nineties, they lived their married life in Elmsdale, NS. Marguerite was active in the Elmsdale United Church, teaching Sunday School and C.G.I.T., as well as, belonging to the choir and the UCW. She enjoyed keeping in touch with all her friends even after moving to Quispamsis. The cards and telephone calls meant so much to her. Marguerite is survived by daughter Jocelyn (Jim) Russell, four special grandsons Jeff, Scott, Steven, and Michael who meant the world to her. Marguerite was pre-deceased by husband Fred, son Wayne and brother Bill. By her request cremation has taken place and burial in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Lower Sackville, NS will take place at a later date. Arrangements under the care and direction of Castle "Kings Chapel" Funeral Home, 154 Hampton Road, Rothesay, NB (849-1702). Donations in Marguerite's memory may be made to Quispamsis United Church and Elmsdale United Church. Special thanks to Dr. Izzard, Dr. Jewers and especially Sue Matthews for their kindness.
