GALLANT, RITA - Rita Gallant (1931 - 2004), birth place Neguac, NB, wife of Leonard Gallant of St. Charles, NB, formerly of Saint John passed away at the Stella Maris Hospital, Ste. Anne de Kent on Monday, June 28, 2004 at the age of 73 years. Daughter of the late Gilbert LeClerc and Angela (Breau) LeClerc. Rita was a past active member of many charitable organizations, such as Saint John Lakewood Head Start, Literacy Council, Soup Kitchen, etc. She was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother and very special great grandmother. She was a good friend and mentor to all who knew her. She is survived by her husband Leonard, two daughters, Brenda Muxworthy (Sid), Saint John and Angela Hachey (Allan), Quispamsis, five sons; Ron (Pat), Riverview, James, at home, Larry (Shirley), Paul (Albina), and Patrick (Tracy), all of Saint John, 17 grandchildren, four great grandchildren, two sisters; Yvonne Dickinson (Gerald), Neguac and Evelyn Robichaud (late Reginald), Neguac, one brother Peter LeClerc (Pauline), Toronto. Also survived by brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, family and friends and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters and three brothers, 3 grandchildren and 1 great grandson. Visitation Friday 2 - 4 and Saturday 9 a.m until departure for funeral. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, Diabetes Association or the NB Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Resting at Thompson's Funeral Home, 33 Acadia St., Richibucto.
