J. TERRANCE GALLANT

GALLANT, J. TERRANCE - It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joseph Terrance Gallant, age 38, of Saint John, loving husband of Janet (Pike) Gallant. Born on September 17, 1965 in Saint John, Terry was the beloved son of Joseph and Theresa (McBride) Gallant. Surviving in addition to his parents and his wife; sadly Terry leaves behind his daughter Katie; his son Alex; his step-daughters Charlotte and Christine Chase, his sister Karen Gallant; his wife's parents, Donald and Jane Pike of Saint John; brothers Gary Burke and his wife Cora of Quispamsis, Ronald Burke of Saint John; sisters Diane MacKay and her husband Sydney of Sussex, Kim Lane and her husband Dan of Oregon; grandmother Irene Hulme of French Village; sisters-in-law Clara Burke and Linda Burke; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and cousins. Terry was predeceased by his brothers Robert Burke and Kevin Burke. Terry was a First Class Firefighter with the Saint John Fire Department for the past 16 years. He was a graduate of St. Malachy's Memorial High School and had attended the University of New Brunswick, Fredericton Campus. Terry was a recent bone marrow donor with the Canadian Bone Marrow Registry, as well as a platelets donor through Canadian Blood Services. He was a past member of the Y's Men organization and was a long time member of the YMCA, an avid athlete, involved with such sports as rugby, soccer and handball. Terry loved his family and his job and was keenly interested in carpentry, cooking, sports, travelling and was a helping hand to others. Visitation at CASTLE "Fallsview" Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Avenue, Saint John West (634-1701) Monday 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 am Wednesday, July 7, 2004 at St. Rose de Lima Roman Catholic Church. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. Following the service, a reception will be held at the Milford Community Centre, 248 Milford Road, Saint John. Memorial donations to any of the following organizations would be appreciated by the family: ProKids, St. Vincent dePaul Society and the Children's Wish Foundation.
