
GEORGE OWEN (1919-2004) PARKER
PARKER, GEORGE OWEN (1919-2004) - George Owen Parker, born December 5th, 1919, passed away on July 5th, 2004 at age 84 years. He is the son of the late George Skiffington Parker and Norah Lydia (Griffin) Parker. Born on Grand Manan Island and spent formative years in McAdam. Owen is survived by wife, Isobel (Mehan) Parker, St. Andrews, NB, daughters, Debbie Vass (Peter), Halifax, NS, Wanda Parker Bell (Blaine), Toronto, Ont., son, Thomas Owen Parker, St. Andrews, NB, five grandchildren, Morgan, Rachel, Annie, Drew and Vinny. Owen is also survived by one brother, Warren Parker (Terry), St. Andrews, NB, sister, Faith Bronson (Robert), Cazenovia, New York, and sister-in-law, Sylvia Parker, St. Andrews, NB, several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brother, Wiley Parker. Owen was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 8, having served five years, 1940-45, abroad in the RCAF, attached to the RAF, Air Gunner Radio Operator on Coastal Command in the British Isles. He was appointed Pilot Officer in November of 1943. No visitation will be held by request. A Memorial Service will be held at All Saints Anglican Church, St. Andrews, NB on Thursday July 8th, 2004 at 3 pm with Canon John Matheson officiating. Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 8 will conduct a tribute service. Reception at the Royal Canadian Legion, St. Andrew, NB following the service. In lieu of flowers, kindly make donations to Passamaquoddy Lodge, St. Andrews or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
