NANCY JEAN (GOGUEN) HAMPTON

HAMPTON, NANCY JEAN (GOGUEN) - After a courageous battle with cancer the passing of Nancy Jean (Goguen) Hampton occurred on July 7, 2004 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, February 13, 1948, Nancy resided most of her life in South Bay, N.B. Daughter of the late Fidele J. and Bertha R. Goguen of Acamac, N.B. She is survived by her husband Glendon Hampton, two sons; David (Jolene) Hampton of Grand Manan, N.B., and Michael Hampton at home. Two grandchildren, Jessey and Chloe Hampton. Also survived by brother Bradley (Marian) Goguen. Two sisters, Lynn (Keith) Purdy and Tracey Burgess all residing in Saint John, and several nieces and nephews. Nancy was employed for more than 25 years at Jim Bob's Variety Store in Saint John. She was a member of Victorian Vintage Violets (Red Hatters). She was also an avid volunteer for the Canadian Cancer Society. Nancy dedicated her life to caring for and loving others. This was never more evident than in the love she showed to her grandchildren, nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. Nancy's zest for life and her friendly, outgoing personality touched the lives of all who knew her. She will be greatly missed. Visitation at CASTLE "Fallsview" Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave., Saint John West (634-1701) on Friday 2-4 and 7-9pm. A Memorial Service will be held at the "Fallsview" Chapel 11am Saturday. Interment will be in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
