ROBERT GORDON MOORE

MOORE, ROBERT GORDON - Robert G. Moore of 40 Millidge Ave., Saint John, passed away into the presence of his Lord on July 24, 2004, surrounded by his wife Georgina and other members of his family. Bob had optimistically and courageously battled his illness for more than three years. Born in Saint John in 1923, he was the son of the late Albert G. and Lillian E. (Hamm) Moore. Bob was in the grocery business most of his working life, operating stores with his late wife Alice, on Millidge Ave. and at Model Farm in Quispamsis. He was a charter member of Kings Way Assembly in Quispamsis, founded 15 years ago by his son Doug. His great passions in life were his church, his family, his hobby farm overlooking Belleisle Bay and the "Friend And Friend" Christian senior men's bowling group, which he was instrumental in establishing several years ago. Bob answered his country's call to military duty during the Second World War. Bob is survived by his wife Georgina (nee O'Donnell); one daughter, Darlene; one son, Rev. Douglas (Marie); one brother, Rev. Donald (Florence); three sisters, Audrey (Percy) Boore, Colleen Beesley, and Rosalie (Russ) Pease; seven grandchildren, Rob (newly-elected MP for Fundy), Ruth (Bryan) Woodson, Janelle, Rebecca, Sam, Denise and Bobby; and one great-grandchild, Rebekah Woodson. He was predeceased by his first wife, Alice (Beesley), in 1981. Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John NB (646-2424), with visiting from 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday. Also a Legion Tribute will be held on Tuesday evening at 7pm. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday from Kings Way Assembly, 7 Kingsway Drive, Quispamsis. Interment will be in the Fernhill Cemetery.
