TIDD, VELMA RUTH - 87, of Brown's Flat, formerly of Seal Cove, Grand Manan, passed away at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Friday evening, August 6th, 2004. Born on Little Wood Island, she was the daughter of the late Wesley and Addie Wilcox. Mrs. Tidd leaves to mourn one daughter Mrs. Auralie Inman, of Brown's Flat, one sister Norma Griffin, Deep Cove; one brother Preston (Ruth) Wilcox of Seal Cove; two grandchildren, Karen Purcell and Kevin Inman of Woodstock, NB; six great grandchildren Colin, Tasha, Krystle Purcell, and Emily, Alicia, and Matthew Inman, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by an infant son Wilbert Clifton; two sisters Esther, Hilda; and three brothers Cline, Ralph and Ashley Wilcox. The family received friends and relatives at Ells Funeral Home on Sunday 2-4 pm, 7-9 pm, with the funeral service to be held at the Seal Cove Wesleyan Church on Monday, August 9th, at 1:30 pm with Rev. Jack MacKenzie officiating, assisted by Rev. Stuart Steeves, interment to follow in Spruce Grove Cemetery, Mark Hill, Grand Manan, NB. The family would appreciate donations to the Palliative Care Memorial Fund at the Saint John Regional Hospital.
