RALPH I. SAVAGE

SAVAGE, RALPH I. - On Wednesday, September 1st, 2004 the gates of heaven opened to welcome home Ralph I. Savage. Born in Fredericton, NB on November 6th, 1923, he was the son of Marguerite Campbell and Millard Savage. Ralph served in R.C.N. in WWII and was later employed at New Brunswick Power. He was an avid sportsman, curled and golfed and in his earlier years played ball with the Marysville Royals, helping them with several championships. He was a member of the Masonic Order, and was raised to Master Mason at Lodge # 47. He was made Worshipful Master, District Deputy Grand Master and received 32nd degree in the Scottish Rite. He was also a member of the Shriners Fire Brigade. Survived by his wife, Jean (Lafontaine); one daughter, Debbie (Mrs. Michael McEvoy); two grand daughters, Amanda (Mrs. Danny Blanchard) and Michelle McEvoy of Sussex, NB; one grandson, Sean McEvoy of Saint John, NB; one great grand daughter, Hannah Blanchard; five step children and five step grand daughters; three sisters, Jean (Mrs. Roy Parsons), Jackie (Mrs. Phil Chapman) and Pauline (Mrs. Hal Sampel). Ralph was predeceased by his parents, his first wife, Eileen (Merrill) Savage, two brothers, Millard Jr. and Allan. Visitation will be held at McAdam's Select Community Funeral Home on Friday, September 3rd, 2004 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The Fredericton Legion Branch # 4 will hold a tribute service on Friday evening at 6:45 pm. The funeral service will be held at Christ Church (Parish) Church on Saturday, September 4th, 2004 at 1:00 pm. Ven. John Sharpe will officiate. Interment will follow in the Alexander Gibson Memorial Cemetery.
