Anderson's Mountain - Elmer Whitney MacPherson, age 72, of Anderson's Mountain, passed away suddenly Saturday, May 3, 2008, at home. Born in Gulf Shore, Cumberland Co., he was a son of the late Huntley and Elsie (Thompson) MacPherson. He owned and operated the Blue Acres Esso for a number of years and was a former employee of Spencer Mills Ltd. He had a passion for horses. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He is survived by his wife the former Myrna Smith; sister-in-law: Wilma Gibson; brother-in-law: Marland "Bud" (Shirley); nieces: Cathy; Sharon; Linda; Shauna; Fahye; Peggy; Elsie; Barbara; Rita; nephews: James; Mackay; Johnny; Elmer; Larry; Donnie; Gary; Alex; Harold;. He was predeceased by sisters: Nellie Jamieson; Nita MacPherson; Jean Moreau. No visitation by request. A public committal service will at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel at Heatherdale Memorial Gardens with Rev. Charles MacPherson officiating. Donations in his memory may be made to the S.P.C.A.
