LOHNES, ALFRED URIAS - The death of Alfred U. Lohnes, age 83, husband of the late Freda Chambers-Parlee, occurred unexpectedly at his residence in Southfield, NB on Thursday, October 21, 2004. Born in Hemford, Lunenburg, NS. He was the son of the late Cecil and Leda (Mailman) Lohnes. Alfred served overseas during the Second World War, he was known to many people in Southern New Brunswick for his trucking and hard work. Alfred is survived by daughters; Marie Short (Don), Kingston, Shirley Burley (Tom), Norton, Carolyn Coughlin, Smiths Creek and Leda Kuin (Jacob ), Mount Pisgah, son; Harold Lohnes, Grove Hill, seventeen grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, one brother Winton (Elsie) Lohnes, Ninevth, NS, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by son; David C. (1982) and the children's mother; Jean (Graves) Lohnes and brothers; Royce and Edwin. Resting at Sherwood's Funeral Home, 18 Scovil Road, Norton, NB (839-2156), Friday, 2 - 4 and 7 -9 PM. Funeral Service will be held from Sherwood's Chapel on Saturday, October 23, 2004 at 2:00 PM, followed by interment in Riverbank Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetic Association or memorial of donor's choice.
