Evelyn A. Hennessy MONCTON - Evelyn A. Hennessy, 92, of ProTem Health Services, Moncton and formerly of Amherst, N.S., passed away at her residence on Sunday, April 13, 2008. Born in Chipman, Evelyn was the youngest daughter of the late Owen and Susan (Gallagher) Lafferty. Educated in Chipman Superior School and Provincial Normal School, Fredericton. Evelyn taught school in New Brunswick for several years prior to joining the Unemployment Insurance Commission in Moncton, serving 30 years before retirement. She was a member of the St. Charles Roman Catholic Church, Amherst, NS, and was a member of the Catholic Women's League for Canada for 65 years and a member of the Retired NB Teachers Association and a chartered member of the Federal Superannuates Organization, Amherst, N.S. Evelyn was also a member of the Highlandview Hospital Auxiliary and the Senior Silver Pioneers in Murray Corner, N.B. She enjoyed life and was an outgoing person, helping others. She enjoyed traveling and spending hours with her gardens and flowers. Evelyn will be sadly missed by her brother, Hector Lafferty, Sussex Corner; many cherished nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Michael; brothers, Philip, Frank, Gerald; sisters, Genevieve, Francis, Ellen, Geraldine.
