DOWNIE, CATHERINE ELIZABETH - 95, passed away November 25, 2004 in the QEII Health Sciences Centre. Born in Saint John, NB, she was the eldest child of John and Rebecca (Delaney) Bardsley. She graduated from the Saint John Infirmary as a registered nurse. Throughout her life she was involved in many organizations: Catholic Women's League, Nova Scotia Girl Guides Association, Meals on Wheels, Professional Engineers' Wives Association, the Halifax Curling Club and the Waegwoltic Club. She is survived by her son Robert (Joan) of Chester and her daughter, Carolyn, of Halifax, many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband William, brothers John and Robert, sisters Frances (Montague), Margaret (O'Neil), Evelyn and Lillian. The family will receive visitors on Friday from 7-9 pm in Snow's Funeral Home, 2666 Windsor Street, Halifax. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday at 10 am November 27, 2004 at St. Agnes Church, Mumford Road. Father Lloyd O'Neill officiating. Internment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
