McWHINNEY, ROBERT LEONARD - Greenwood, NS. Robert Leonard McWhinney, 66 of Greenwood, NS died December 5, 2004 in Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton, NS. Born in Montreal, he was the son of the late Robert and Alice McWhinney. He was a former employee of Saint John Shipbuilding and Drydock. He owned and operated Brunswick Ventilation Co. Ltd., Fredericton and later was employed with Irving Pulp and Paper until retiring in 1998. He was a former member of Saint John Marina and Kennebecasis Royal Yacht Club and enjoyed boating on the Saint John River System. He was committed to his wife and family. Surviving are his wife the former Darlene Fletcher; sons Robert (Linda), Hammonds Plains, NS; Wayne (Wendy), Greenwood, NS; Murray (Desiree), North Vancouver, BC; grandchildren Sarah and Sean. Visiting 7-9 p.m. Monday and funeral service 2 p.m. Tuesday all in the Warren T. Roop Funeral Home, Middleton, NS. Interment in North Kingston Cemetery, Kingston, Rev. Leon Langille officiating.
