Harold Edward Brander

NORTHPORT - Harold Edward Brander, Northport - 1923 - 2007, peacefully departed this world March 25, 2007. Born in Northport, "Babe" was the sixth child of the late Thomas and Hazel Brander of Northport. He lived in Northport and was a fisherman all his life but also in the off-seasons worked in lumber mills and on the "high steel" with Robb Engineering at many locations around Atlantic Canada. Babe was in service (RCAF) during the Second World War. He has always been a member in good standing with the Royal Canadian Legion. He is survived by three children, Marie (Jack) MacKay, Cora Donkin, Ed (Linda) Brander and by five grandchildren & five great-grandchildren; a sister Bina Brownell & brother Walter Brander; numerious neices & nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased in 1991 by his wife Reta (Smith), formerly of Linden Corner, and by sisters, Ada Peers & Anna Moore; brothers, Leslie (Joe), Robert & Larry. Visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m. with the funeral service at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 31, in Mundle‚s Funeral Home, 204 Water St., Pugwash. K. Ruth Gamble officiating with cremation to follow.
