H. ROY SPARKS

SPARKS, H. ROY - At his residence on Saturday, January 1st, 2005; Howard Roy Sparks, of the Loch Lomond Villa; formerly of Meenan's Cove; husband of the late Nelda (Aubie) Sparks. Born in Saint John, he is the son of the late Isaac and Rebecca (Baggs) Sparks. In earlier years Roy was an Occupational Therapist for the former Provincial Hospital. He had lived a number of years in Saint John and before moving to the Villa; he had lived 22 years in Meenans Cove. He was a member of Quispamsis United Church. A former member of St. Mary's Band having served over 50 years. He had also served overseas with the Royal Canadian Engineers Band during World War ll. He is survived by his two sons Ken Sparks (Elaine) of Rothesay, and Ronald (Marylou) of Ottawa, one daughter Janet Sparks of Calgary, eight grandchildren, several great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Roy was the youngest and last surviving member of his immediate family. Resting at Castle "Kings Chapel" Funeral Home, 154 Hampton Road, Rothesay, NB (506 -849 - 1702) from where the service will be held on Wednesday, January 5th, 2005 at 1:00 pm. The family will receive friends during a time of visitation from 12:00 noon until service time at 1:00 pm. A reception will immediately follow in the Kings Chapel Family Reception Room, followed by the interment at Fernhill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to the Canadian Red Cross Asian Relief Fund would be appreciated by the family.
