NICHOLAS DENIS VALLIS
VALLIS, NICHOLAS DENIS - of Quispamsis, passed away on Thursday, December 30th, 2004 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. He was the son of the late James N. and Clara L. (Saunders) Vallis. Nicholas served in the Royal Canadian Navy on the high seas in the N. Atlantic during WWII, receiving several medals. He was owner/manager of Economy Glass and Mirrors in Moncton until his retirement in 1984. He then attended Clearwater Christian College Bible Institute, graduating in 1987. Nick was an avid outdoorsman, and spent much time with family and being a help and blessing to anyone who had a need. He was also a very faithful and active member of First Bible Baptist Church, Quispamsis. Now "absent from the body, to be present with the Lord", (II Cor. 5:8) Nick is survived by his loving wife, Norma D. (McInnis) Vallis, one daughter; Karen Lynn (David) Estabrooks of Saint John, stepbrother; Russell Gilliland of Saint John, and a grandson, Jonathan. Nicholas was predeceased by two stepbrothers; James and Oliver Gilliland, one brother, George Vallis, two sisters, Margaret Thomas and Angeline Ashford. Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John, NB (646-2424) with visitation on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 m. The Funeral service will be held from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, January 4th, 2005 at 1pm. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. The family would appreciate donations be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society, First Bible Baptist Church Building Fund, or to the charity of the donors choice.
