GILCHRIST, LAWRENCE L. - The death of Lawrence L. Gilchrist of St. Martins, husband of Alma (MacDonald) Gilchrist occurred January 6, 2005 at his residence. He was born at St. Martins, son of the late Graydon and Dora (Brown) Gillcrist. He worked at the Saint John Dry Dock, was a security guard at Exhibition Park and retired as a guard at the Saint John Jail. Surviving besides his wife Alma are one daughter, Krista Beattie (Gary) of Fredericton; two sons, Paul and Michael of St. Martins; four sisters Jessie Bennett (Greg) of St. Martins, Audrey Stewart of Elgin, Mildred Dupere (Albert) of Willow Grove, Dorothy Clayton (Eugene) of St. Martins; three brothers Murray (Leona) of Saint John, William of Saint John, Ward (Shirley) of St. Martins; six grandchildren, one great grandson, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one sister Helen Sherwood and four brothers Roy, Harvey, Clayton and Doug. Resting at Holy Trinity Church, St. Martins with visitation 2-4pm and 7-9pm Sunday. The funeral will be held Monday, 2:00 pm, at Holy Trinity Church with Rev. Dana Dean officiating. Interment in Mosher Hill Cemetery.
