Alice Doris Georgene (Pat) Taylor Alice Doris Georgene (Pat) Taylor, 96, passed away peacefully Jan. 1, 2008 at High Crest in Springhill after a long and full life. She was predeceased by her parents Ira and Lulu Taylor and her brother Rodger Taylor. She is survived by her sister Audrey Miles in Winnipeg, her sister-in-law Gertrude (Trudy) Taylor in Amherst, her nephews Richard Miles in Creemore, Ontario and Andrew Miles in Winnipeg, and her niece Mary Miles in Winnipeg. Georgene was born in Williamsdale, Nova Scotia and spent all her life in Amherst. After completing a business course, she spent her entire career at Nova Scotia Power. Georgene was a lifelong and active member of Trinity St. Stephen's United Church, an avid reader and historian, and a world traveler. She was a loyal sister to Audrey and was especially appreciative of the support her brother and sister-in-law Rodger and Trudy provided to her on their return to Amherst following their retirement. Their care and support enabled Georgene to stay in her long-time home on Victoria St. East for many years. Although she did not have children of her own, Georgene was a devoted aunt to her nephews and niece, always showing interest in and acknowledging their activities and accomplishments, as well as those of their children. Amherst was always home to Georgene, largely due to the close and caring friends she held throughout her life. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service to which all are invited will be held on Monday, June 2, 2008 at 11am at the Furlong Jones Funeral Home, 68 Church Street, Amherst (667-8777), Rev.
