Alice LeFurgey AMHERST, N.S. - The death of Alice LeFurgey, age 82, of Amherst, occurred peacefully at the Halifax Infirmary on Saturday, March 22, 2008. Born in Port Howe, NS, in 1925, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Mina (Smith) Colborne. She worked as a bookkeeper for Canadian Assemblies, Graham Smith Ford, Fisher Honda and Jomar Holdings. She was a member of Trinity St. Stephens United Church. She was active in the Senior Citizen's Group, bowling, darts and playing cards. She enjoyed camping at Loch Lomond, being a permanent summer resident for almost 20 years. She will be sadly missed by her sons Joe (Marilyn), Amherst, David (Gloria), Amherst; 5 grandchildren, Todd, Mandy, Zack, Terri (Ken) and Tim; 6 great grandchildren, her 2 nieces Darlene (Bob) White, Amherst and Jocelyn (Brian) Bickford, Halifax. She is predeceased by her husband Joseph in 1998, the last surviving member of her immediate family she is also predeceased by her sister Dorothy MacKenzie, half-brother Lawrence, half-sister Verda and Audrey. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Furlong~Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church St., Amherst, NS (902-667-8777) where visiting hours will take place from the chapel on Monday, March 24, 2008 from 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will take place from the Furlong~Jones Chapel, 68 Church St., on Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at 2 pm, Rev. Susan Estabrooks officiating. Burial will take place in the Amherst Cemetery in the spring.
