DOWNS, MARGARET - At her residence, the Campbellton Nursing Home, Margaret Downs passed away on January 20th, 2005 at the age of 88. She was born in Matapedia, PQ on May 31, 1916 to the late Alexander (Sandy) Pratt and Bertha Bulmer. Margaret was a member of St. John's United Church, Broadlands, PQ. She is survived by daughters Mary Needle (Elmer) of Saint John, NB and Ann Smith (Doug) of Lindsay, Ont., daughter-in-law Sheila of New Richmond, PQ, sons Billy (Marilyn) of Point de Bute, NB and Gary (Audrey) of Peterborough, Ont., eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, several step grandchildren and great grandchildren. Predeceased by husband Bill, son Tommy, brothers Willie, Irvine, Pete, Tad and Porter, sisters Isobel Whitman, Jean Babcock, Bertha Copeland, Bernice Targett and Thelma Downs. Funeral service will be held at Maher's Funeral Chapel Campbellton on Monday, January 24, 2005 at 2:00 p.m., officiated by Rev. Wendell Gregan.
