HELENA LENA (FORTUNE) GRIFFITH
GRIFFITH, HELENA LENA (FORTUNE)- August 27, 1932- January 26, 2005. The passing of Helena Griffith occurred January 26, 2005 at the Saint John Regional Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was a member of the Eastern Star Philip Jergason Chapter #18, the Ina Rebecca Lodge... McAdam, NB, Royal Canadian Legion #22...Grand Bay, Woman's Aux. Canton LaTour. Helena was also very active in her community being a member of the KBM Assoc. for over 60 years, member of the Gloscap Campers Assoc., NB, an avid ceramicists having her own studio, she could be found bowling in various woman's bowling leagues especially Haymarket Square Leagues. She became involved with the Girl Guides of Canada as a Brown Owl for the 1st Ketepec Pack. She was employed for several years at MRA's China Department also for Calp's Ladies wear. She also was an avid hobbyist, playing the piano or guitar, family gatherings, and family reunions were her greatest joy...oh how she loved going...camping, camping, camping!...and spending every chance she could loving and being with her family. Besides her husband Calvin Herbert Griffith...she is survived by her daughters Patricia Jo-Anne Griffith-McGuire-Grant (Rick), Beatrice Eileen Griffith-Humble (Jim) and son Calvin Arthur Griffith (companion Heather Steeves). Her grandsons Robert McGuire (Candace), Andrew McGuire (Tabitha), Charles Griffith, Devon Griffith. Her grand-daughters Beatrice (BeeJay) Humble, Tressa MacIntyre, Trisha Leger (Matthew). Great-grandsons, Seth Griffith, Nathan Davidson, Evan Grant, Nathan McIntyre, Tyler-Joe Smith. Great granddaughters, Rayanne McGuire, Chloe McGuire, Allison Grant, Lily Grant, Kalli MacIntyre. And out great grandchild on the way! Her sisters Eileen McCluskey (John), Gertrude LeRoy, sister-in-law Lillian Fortune, brother-in-law William Searle, sister-in-law Florence McGeachy (Duncan), sister-in-law Ethel Griffith, brother-in-law Ernest Griffith (June), several nieces and nephews and Goddaughter Patricia (Savoy) Cobb. She was predeceased by her Mother Lena, Father John Edward, sisters: Eleanor, Catherine, brothers: Walter, Joseph, John and Charles. Resting at Brenans Bay View Select Community Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road (634-7425), with visiting on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 29, 2005, at 11:00 AM, from Bay View Chapel. Interment will take place at Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. Remembrances made to the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Kidney Foundation or the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated. www.bay
