Arthur C. Langille AMHERST - Arthur C. Langille, 92, of Amherst passed away at home on Thursday, Nov. 13, 2008, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Amherst, he was the son of Alexander and Mary Ellen (Colbourne) Langille. He is survived by his daughter Judy L. Boutilier, Amherst; two sons, Robert G. (Norma), Holland Landing, Ont.; James B. (Wendy), Amherst; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Phyllis W. (Babe Blanche); his sister Faye Bowser; brothers Alfred B. and Lloyd S.; and his son-in-law William Boutilier. He was emplolyed for several years by Maritime Automatic Music Co., Amherst, as a serviceman for a route of automatic music machines throughout the Maritime provinces. Following four years in the armed services, he took training in typewriter repair, an occupation he carried on for many years. He joined the Nova Scotia Liquor Commission as a clerk in 1948 and retired as manager of their Amherst outlet in September 1979, He was also a life member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Amherst Branch. His love and companionship with his dogs, Buddy and Dakota, contributed to his longevity. Arthur's remains have been entrusted into the care of the Furlong-Jones Funeral Home, Amherst, with visitation Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, Nov. 18 at 11 a.m., from the Furlong Jones Chapel, Church St., Amherst. Burial in the Amherst Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to the L.A. Animal Shelter or a charity of the donor's choice gratefully accepted.
