BLANCHET, BARBARA - Born September 17, 1919 Saint John, New Brunswick. Passed away January 30, 2005 in Duncan, BC. After graduating from McGill University in 1941 Barb married Jack Campbell of Vancouver. Together they started their family with their daughter Lavinia and sons John and Clark. In 1960 she became a teacher, moved to the Bahamas where she was re-married to Eric Blanchet. They had one child, Guy. She taught and resided there until 1972 where she and Eric semi-retired to Oak Bay, BC, where they could spend more time sailing. In 1984 she and Eric moved to Satellite Park. Barb's last 8 years were spent with the staff and residents at Wedgewood House, in Duncan. Throughout Barb's life, her passions were teaching, where she was recently awarded with a Recognition of Service for 15 years of volunteer tutoring of ESL students, sailing and reading and writing of mystery stories.
