"GEORGE" DAIGLE

DAIGLE, "GEORGE" - Joseph Adolphe Georges - of Carleton Towers, passed away peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Monday, February 14, 2005. Born in Saint John, he was the son of the late Frederick and Angeline (Gaudet ) Daigle. George was a veteran of WWII, Carleton-Yorke Regiment and also one of the founding members of the Carleton-Yorke Club. He was employed by the Winterport for many years as a Stevedore and also spent some time working as a woodsman in his earlier days. Later in his retirement years, George loved to play golf. George is survived by brother Donald (Elva) Daigle, Church Point, NS., sisters Mildred Gray, Clara Briggs, and Theresa McCann all of Saint John, NB., as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers Leo, and Paul and his sisters Elizabeth Gallant and Florence Coldrick. By his request, cremation has taken place and visitation will be held Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, February 17, 2005 in Our Lady of the Assumption Church at 12 noon with interment to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of NB or Mass cards placed to the church.
