CHAPPELL, REV. GORDON LYNSIN - 69, of Chappell Court, Cedarstone Enhanced Care, Truro, passed away peacefully, Thursday, February 24, 2005 in Cedarstone Enhanced Care, Truro. Born in Saint John, NB, he was a son of the late Lynsin and Mary (Mosher) Chappell. Gordon was a Baptist Church Minister for many years serving in Clementsport, Port Bickerton, Nictaux, Shelburne, Dawson Settlement, NB, and then Bass River. He taught high school in Shelburne for one year. He was a member of the Truro Ministerial Association and a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church, Truro. He is survived by a daughter, Brenda Putnam of Bible Hill; son Stephen of Dartmouth his children's mother Marilyn (Smeltzer) Chappell of Dartmouth; grandson Jeremy. He was predeceased by a brother David. Visitation will be 7 to 9 Sunday in the Mattatall Funeral Home, Truro. Funeral service will be held on Monday at 2 pm from the Immanuel Baptist Church, Truro. Rev. Peter Reid and Rev. Brent Robertson will officiate with burial at a later date in the Masstown United Church Cemetery, Masstown.
