Beverly Ruth MacLeod SPRINGHILL - Beverly Ruth MacLeod aged 73 years of Springhill, passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2008, in All Saints Hospital, Springhill, after losing her courageous battle with cancer. Born in Springhill, she was a daughter of the Late Douglas Edward and Marion Louise (O'Brien) Blue. Beverly was employed by the Town of Springhill for many years, first as a stenographer and then as a Social Services Director. Bev was a kind and caring person who spent many happy occasions with family and friends. She particularly enjoyed playing cards with the girls, spending time with her sister Joan, and summers at the cottage at Heather Beach. She is survived by her partner Ralph Terris; son, Brian (Grace) MacLeod of Springhill; step-daughter, Fran (Mike) McMillan of Springhill; sister, Joan Blue of Halifax; grandchildren, Trevor, Megan, Alisha, Aleasha, Bill, Kate, Erin, and Nicole; eight great grandchildren; special friend Max; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband Clarence MacLeod; son, Frank MacLeod; step-son Glen Terris. Cremation has taken place. A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 12, 2008, followed immediately at 11 a.m. by the Memorial Service both held in A.H. Brown Funeral Home, Springhill, with The Reverend David Lloyd-Pearce officiating. Burial in Hillside Cemetery, Springhill, at a later date. If so desired, donations made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
