Cecil Douglas (Jeep) Terris

SPRINGHILL – Cecil Douglas “Jeep” Terris, 73, of Highland Street, Springhill, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 30, 2008 in Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Nappan. Born in Springhill, he was a son of the late Cecil and Juanita (Brown) Terris. He spent most of his working years in coal mining in Springhill, Cape Breton and River Hebert. He owned and operated his own taxi service for many years before working at Surrette Battery, Springhill, until his retirement in 2000. He was a lover of animals, especially his chickens. He is survived by a sister, Eunice White of Springhill, and a brother, John Terris of Attleboro, Mass; five nieces and three nephews; also by old friends, Louise and Terry Davies, Springhill. He was predeceased by a sister, Queenie Vance. Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., today in A.H. Brown Funeral Home, Springhill, from where the funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 4 with Captain Jamie Hillier officiating. Burial in West Brook Cemetery, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Salvation Army or a charity of choice would be appreciated.
