LEONA (NONIE) VIOLET GILLCRIST

GILLCRIST, LEONA (NONIE) VIOLET - The death of Mrs. Leona (Nonie) Violet Gillcrist, loving wife of Murray Gillcrist occurred on Thursday March 17, 2005 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born 1925 in St. Martins, she was the daughter of the late Warren and Sarah Maude (Tait) Langille. Leona had worked as a supervisor in the X-Ray Transcription Office for the Saint John Regional Hospital for 27 years, retiring in 1990. She served in the Air Force in the Ottawa Supply, she was a lifelong member of Twin Seas Caravan Club and Good Sam Club. She was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 53. Besides her loving husband Murray, she is survived by her two daughters Wenda Sheryl Winchcombe (Gordon) of Rothesay and Joan Lynn Gillcrist (Randy Fitzgerald) of Hartland; seven grandchildren Robert Wesley Bennett (Andrea), Sheryl Lynn Titus (Duane), Aaron Bennett, David Bennett, Sarah Winchcombe, Lisa Law (Jason) and Jeremy Clarke both of Jacksonville; three great grandchildren Adam Titus, Neil Titus and Gracen Bennett; one brother Arthur Langille of St. Martins; one sister Barbara Jackson (William) of Saint John; several cousins, nieces and nephews. Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) with visitations on Saturday and Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Visitation will also take place at St. Martins Baptist Church on Monday from 12:30 - 1:30 p.m. The funeral service will take place at St. Martins Baptist Church on Monday March 21, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will take place in St. Martins Community Cemetery. The family would appreciate donations made to the St. Martins Baptist Church or to the charity of the donor's choice.
