HATT, EDWARD CHARLES SR. - The death of Edward Charles Hatt Sr., husband of Carol Ann (Mitchell) Hatt of Back Bay, NB, occurred peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John, NB on March 24, 2005. Born on March 2, 1943, in St. Stephen, Edward was the son of the late James H. and Angela Agnes (Smith) Hatt. A loving husband, father and brother, he is survived, besides his wife, by one son, Edward Hatt Jr. & Natasha Rose ("Rosebud"); seven brothers, William ("Bill") of California, Gerald ("Jake"), Thomas ("Tom"), Bob, Danny, Dick and Dale, all of St. Stephen; three sisters, Sandra Beck, Linda Richards, and Mary Joe Hatt, all of St. Stephen; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; mother-in-law, Francis Mitchell of Back Bay. Ed will be sadly missed by his close friends, Tom & BJ Barrett, William Hanley, Garnet Matheson & his many co-workers. Edward was employed with Garnet Matheson as a carpenter for 25 years. Eddie was a hard worker and provider who was an avid Bingo player, loved his boat and fishing at Head Harbour. He was thoughtful of everyone around him. By his request there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 26th at 3:00 pm from the Church of Christ in Back Bay. In his memory, donations to the Charlotte County SPCA, or a charity of the donor's choice, would be appreciated by the family.
