Constance Georgina Perkins Constance Georgina Perkins - Constance Georgina Perkins of Saint John, wife of the late William A. Perkins, passed away at her home on Monday, January 12, 2009. Born at Saint John on September 4, 1918, she was the youngest daughter of the late William Henry (Cutch) and Edith Marian (Spiller) McCallum. Connie was a 1935 graduate of Saint John High School, who worked as a secretary for Anderson Insurance, and later worked at Statistics Canada.. An avid lover of music, she routinely listened to and supported the UNBSJ Campus Radio. She was a strong supporter of St. Joseph's Hospital Foundation and the Saint John Regional Hospital Foundation, and did a lot of knitting for the hospitals both in Saint John and Amherst, Nova Scotia. Connie also loved doing crosswords and Sudoku puzzles, and was a master of the art of good conversation. She was dearly loved and will be deeply missed, both by her family, and by her cherished cat, Molly. Connie is survived by her son, Gary Perkins (Lorna) of Quispamsis; her daughter, Gayle Janes (Bob) and grandchildren Rob (Cathy), Heather Janes Pedersen (Murray), and Corey; great grandchildren Jordan, Beau, Bailey, and Connor, all of Amherst, Nova Scotia; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Connie was predeceased by her sisters, Willa Connors and Lillian Flanagan; and her brother, William McCallum. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Thursday at 2:30 PM from Brenan's Chapel. Interment will take place in the spring. For those who wish, remembrances to either St. Joseph's or the Saint John Regional Hospital Foundation, Romero House Soup Kitchen, or any charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family. www.brenansfh.com.
