Donald Melanson AMHERST The death of Donald Melanson, age 66, of Amherst, occurred at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre on Thursday, April 12, 2007 Born in Amherst, he was a son of Margaret (White) Melanson and the late Leon Melanson. Donald will be sadly missed by his common-law-wife, Dona Hunter, Amherst; a son Wade, Mississauga, ON; his mother, Margaret Melanson, Port Howe, NS, 4 grandchildren; a brother, Roger (Arlene), Fenwick; 3 sister's Carolyn (Murray) Godfrey, Moncton, Janet Pickering, Amherst and Susan, Port Howe, NS; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Terry Lynn Melanson a brother, John David and brother-in-law, Frank Pickering. The remains have been entrusted into the care of the Furlong Jones Funeral Home, Church Street, Amherst (667-8777). Donald's family will receive friends at the Furlong Jones Chapel, 64 Church Street, Amherst on Friday from 7 to 9 pm. A funeral mass will be celebrated at the Holy Family Parish, Church Street.
