Decorated Vietnam War Veteran, born October 2, 1947. Passed suddenly but peacefully away at his home on Monday, July 14, 2008, Robert Harvey Rollings, aged 60 years. Predeceased by his father Harvey (1972), mother Marie (1989), brother Charles (1995), brother-in-law James Wisely (2002), and sister Lorraine (2007). Leaving to mourn with loving memories is his devoted partner in life Shirley Edstrom Crawley; his three children Kimberly Short (Robin), Cheralyn Carroll (Sean) and Gregg Rollings (Wendy); and their mother Zita (Rollings) Murphy. He was loved by stepsons Scott Crawley (Heather McLean) and Justin Crawley (Tonya Whittle). Grandpa will be lovingly remembered and always in the hearts of the lights of his life, his four grandchildren: Ian Carroll, Cameron Short, Haley Rollings and Owen Crawley. The pillar of his family, his youngest sister Victoria Rollings Perry (husband Bob, of Pinehill, New Jersey), is devastated by the loss of her big brother "Bobby", as are a large circle of nieces, nephews, family and friends in Newfoundland, New York, New Jersey and Chicago, Illinois, U.S.A. Bob was a New Yorker by birth, but a proud Canadian citizen and an even prouder Newfoundlander. He was a dedicated employee of Molson Canada for over thirty years Known by his colleagues as the "Yank", he relished retirement and yet often reminisced about the old days at Molson Brewery. Bob enjoyed the simple things in life. He was a colorful character. He spoke truthfully, laughed often, loved deeply and lived well. Always loved, never forgotten, ever inspiring. Resting at Carnell's Funeral Home Thursday and Friday 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass from Corpus Christi Church on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. with interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
