REX GEORGE HEYWOOD
HEYWOOD, REX GEORGE - Peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John, NB, the death of Mr. Rex George Heywood, 86, husband of Elizabeth Genevieve (Leslie) Heywood of Saint John, occurred on May 16, 2005. Born in Victoria, Carleton Co., NB on September 14, 1918, he was a son of the late William John and Lulu (Somers) Heywood. He is survived by his wife, Betty; three daughters, Sylvia (Mrs. Earl Hawton) of Prince William, NB, Miss Lee Ann Heywood of Fredericton and Brenda Lee Wright of Saint John; one brother, Stephen Heywood of Victoria, Carleton Co., NB; two sisters, Mabelle (Mrs. John Sparks) and Mary (Mrs. Bruce Bridgeo), both of Browns Flat, NB; five grandchildren including Joshua Wright; three great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins and special friend, Sharon MacLean. He was predeceased by three brothers, Roy, Donald and Bliss and one sister, Ella. Rex served for six years in Canada and England as a sergeant during WWII and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #14, Saint John. Visiting at Brenans Funeral Home, Paradise Row, Saint John on Tuesday, May 17th from 6:30 - 9 pm. The service will be held from Brenans Chapel on Wednesday at 11:00 am with Rev. David Nicholson and Rev. John Martin officiating. Interment to be held in Mount Hope Cemetery, Deer Island at a later date. In Rex's memory, donations to the Douglas Avenue Christian Church, the Saint John Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit, or a charity of the donor's choice, would be appreciated by the family.
