AMHERST – The death of Douglas Maxwell Carter, 57, occurred at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre on Thursday, June 26, 2008. Born in Amherst, he was the son of the late Kelsea and Audrey (Fields) Carter. Douglas is survived by his wife, Colette; three daughters, Brianne, Erin and Maura; two grandchildren; two sisters, Alma and Phyllis. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Raymond. Douglas’s remains have been cremated under the care of the Furlong Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church Street, Amherst (667-8777), from where a private family memorial service was held. Burial has taken place in the Leicester Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the West Highlands School Library. www.furlongjones.ca
