ALLEN, KENNETH R. - At the Saint John Regional Hospital on Wednesday, June 8th, 2005 after a short battle with cancer, Kenneth Robert Allen of West Saint John, NB. Born October 29th, 1933 in Fairville, NB he is the son of the late Clarence and Grace (Duplisea) Allen. Kenneth was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 69 where he worked for many years until his retirement. He also worked with the Fire Department for the city of Saint John - Lancaster, before its amalgamation. He attended the Fairville Baptist Church in his younger years. He attended Fairville Superior School and Saint John Vocational School. Kenneth has many special friends in Fairville, especially those of A.J.'s Management & Staff who were very caring and kind to Kenny, Thank you. Kenneth is survived by daughter Bridget Gish of Idaho, son Jeffrey K. Allen of Wyoming, brothers Douglas N. (Connie) Allen, Fred L. (Mary) Allen all of GrandBay - Westfield, Donald C. (Nancy) Allen of Saint John, Eddy G. (Linda) Allen of Kitimat, B.C., sisters Gwennie Farnham of Saint John, Eloise (Robert) Costello of Quispamsis, Marcia (Nick) Mihaluk of Moncton, granddaughter Elizabeth and grandson Anthony, both of U.S.A. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and cousins. Kenneth was predeceased by his parents, brother Mahlon (Dubby) Allen and brother-in-law Frank Farnham. Resting at Castle "Fallsview" Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Avenue, West Saint John, NB from where the service will be held in the chapel at 11 a.m. on Friday, June, 10th, 2005. Rev. Dr. Kevin Hicks officiating. The interment will follow in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home for a time of visitation on Thursday from 2 - 4 only. Donations to the charity of the donors' choice would be appreciated by the family.
