DOUGHERTY, MELVIN ALONZO - The death of Melvin Dougherty of Clearview occurred on June 9, 2005 at the Hotel Dieu Hospital at the age of 79. Born in Woodstock he was the son of the late James and Clemina Dougherty. He is survived by his wife Bell Dougherty; two daughters Fay (David) Briggs of Florenceville and Hollie Dougherty of Oakland; one son Greg (Sharon) Dougherty of Bairdsville; four grandchildren; two sisters Elsie Stairs of Lake George and Georgie McElroy of Woodstock. Predeceased by his parents and one sister. Resting at Calvary Tabernacle, Perth-Andover with visiting hours on Saturday June 11th from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral service will be held on Sunday June 12th at 2 PM from Calvary Tabernacle with Rev. H.M. Lewis officiating. Interment in the Hillcrest Cemetery.
