
ETHEL ANNE THOMPSON
THOMPSON, ETHEL ANNE - of Dipper Harbour passed away at the Loch Lomond Villa Nursing Home on Friday, June 10th, 2005. She was the daughter of the late David and Josephina (Comnick) Samida. Ethel is survived by her three sons, Brian (Janis) of Fredericton NB, Gregory (Jill) of Dipper Harbour, and Christy (Donna) of Edmonton Alb., two brothers, David (Baunie) of Bigger, Sask., and Wallace (Marie) of Tisdale, Sask., one sister Eleanor (Abe) Sawatsky also of Tisdale, Sask., and seven grandchildren, Brian, Susan, Matthew, Jeremy, Christy, Tugger, and Jarett. Besides her parents, Ethel was predeceased by her husband Christy, and by two brothers, Arthur and Ralph. Ethel was a devoted mother and grandmother and enjoyed a special relationship with her husband's family. During her lifetime she was active in her church, the Women's Institute and community affairs. After graduation from UNB in 1982 as a mature student, Ethel authored several history books. Funeral arrangements for Ethel are under the care of Fundy Funeral Home 230 Westmorland Road Saint John, NB (646-2424) with visitations on Sunday 7-9 pm. and Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. A Tribute to a Veteran will also be held at 7pm from the funeral home on Sunday evening. The Memorial service will be held on Tuesday June 14th, from the Dipper Harbour United Baptist Church at 2pm. Interment will follow the Memorial service at Chance Harbour Cemetery.
