ECKSTEIN, SHIRLEY ANN - With great sadness, the family of Shirley Ann Eckstein, wife of Robert Eckstein of Fredericton announce her passing, at home, on June 27, 2005. Born in Montreal, March 4, 1931, Shirley was the daughter of the late Roy and Nellie (Adams) Boyer. Shirley was the cherished wife of Bob for 52 years and the dearest mother of Janet Waugh (Peter), Port Hastings, NS; Robert Jr. (Debbie), New Maryland; Judy Dykeman (Shawn), Prince George BC; Jill Johnston (Edward), Rothesay NB and Jennifer Brewer (Mark), Quispamsis NB. Shirley's pride and joy were her eleven grandchildren, Christopher, Stephanie and Kelsey Waugh, Sean and James Eckstein, Leah and Evan Dykeman, Kailey Janes and Garett Johnston, Rachel and Paige Brewer. Shirley is also survived by her brother, Daniel Boyer (Kathleen) of Montreal, her sister-in-law, Alyson Hamilton of Quispamsis and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Shirley was predeceased by her brothers, George, Kenneth and Ronald Boyer and nephew, Norman. Shirley was a homemaker and a retired employee of the Bank of Montreal. Like her mother and grandmother Adams she was an avid knitter for her family and friends and for charitable groups. Resting at York Funeral Home, Brookside Drive, Fredericton with visiting on Wednesday, June 29 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Cremation will take place. Funeral service will take place at St. John the Evangelist Church, Main Street, Fredericton on Thursday, June 30 at 2 pm with Rev. William MacMullin presiding. Internment will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the DECH Oncology Dept. and the NB Extra Mural Program for Shirley's wonderful care.
