Ellen Bertha (MacKenzie) Moore WESTCHESTER - Ellen Bertha (MacKenzie) Moore, 90, of Westchester, Cumberland County, N.S., passed away peacefully, Friday, April 25, 2008, at the Mira Long Term Care Center, Truro. Born in Earltown, she was a daughter of the late Daniel Robert and Effie (Ferguson) MacKenzie. Ellen spent all of her adult life in Westchester raising her seven children. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. When she had a spare moment she was usually knitting, quilting, crocheting, sewing. She was a member of the Westchester Wesleyan Church where she was a devoted Christian who supported her church with all her heart. She is survived by three daughters, Shirley (Gordon) Shipley, Balfron, N.S.; Marlene Vance, Calgary, Alta.; Darlene (Harvie) Montrose, Westchester; two sons, Charles (Judy), Westchester; Ross (Eleanor), Truro; one sister, Betty Perrin, Truro; 17 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. She was predeceased by her husband, Howard; sons, Wayne and Tony; sisters, Hughena “Ena” Landsburg, and Annie Holt; brothers, Alexander “Sandy”, and William. Visitation was held 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, April 27, and funeral service will be 2 p.m. today, April 28, all in the Wesleyan Church, Westchester, with Pastor Jasper Rideout officiating, with interment to follow in the Eagle Hill Cemetery, Westchester. A reception will then follow in the Westchester Fire Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wesleyan Church, Westchester, N.S.
