ROSS, JAMES (FCA) - Peacefully in Ottawa on Sunday April 24, 2005. Jim was dearly loved and much cherished husband of Beatrice "Bea" (Keenan). Jim was the treasured uncle of Brenda Morrison (John) of Beaconsfield, Quebec and was predeceased by his parents John and Harriet (Purves), his sister Jessica Yule (the late David Yule) of Montreal, Quebec and his first wife Hazel Scott. A proud graduate of McGill and a Chartered Accountant of great distinction, Jim established the Pricewaterhouse Coopers office in Ottawa and was its Managing Partner for a quarter of a century. An easy going, good humoured, extremely organized gentleman of principle and kindness, Jim relished his service as President of the Rideau Club, the Ottawa Red Cross and the Royal Ottawa Golf Club. Jim was particularly fond of his instrumental role in ensuring the membership of women in the Rideau Club and the leadership he undertook in re-establishing the Club following the loss to fire of the original building. Quick of mind and body and a high school basketball star, Jim loved to read, ski, curl, golf and compete at tennis, squash and his Thursday night poker games. Jim delighted in salmon and trout fishing trips from Ungava Bay to Australia, British Columbia to Scotland, and the Miramichi in New Brunswick. Jim loved music and enjoyed sharing his gift as a talented pianist. The always smiling Jim was a person of highest integrity who served with honour as the official agent of the Liberal Party of Canada for many years. Jim embraced everyday with happiness and while demanding much of himself, he overlooked with a twinkle the faults of others. Jim was an accomplished man of action, style, compassion and the rarest quality of grace. A Mass in memory of Jim will be held at St. Gertrude's Church, Woodstock, New Brunswick on Saturday, July 16, 2005 at 11 a.m. followed by burial in Calvary Cemetery.
